2026
Canopy invites viewers to consider how support, relationships and connection create the conditions for transformation, allowing us to expand with confidence while remaining deeply grounded.
Canopy presents a quiet sanctuary: a seated figure cradled by organic forms that rise around her like protective branches or unfolding leaves. From the crown of her head, the intricate canopy blossoms outward, symbolising the deep connection between the inner self and the living world.
The figure appears both grounded and uplifted, suggesting that growth begins when we allow ourselves to be supported by the environments that nurture us. The sculpture's richly glazed surface is layered with earthy browns, charcoal tones, and subtle blue highlights, evoking weathered bark, fertile soil, and the changing light within a forest. Vibrant yellow bracelets provide moments of warmth and luminosity, creating a visual dialogue between earth, light, resilience and joy. The flowing organic forms surrounding the figure merge seamlessly with her body, dissolving the boundary between human and landscape.
Canopy celebrates the restorative power of nature as both refuge and teacher. Like the sheltering branches of a forest it reminds us that protection and growth can exist simultaneously—that strength is often cultivated in moments of quiet belonging.
